Islamists Control Libyan Capitol: Christians Hardly Dare to Leave Their Homes

(Tripoli) The Islamists have taken control over Libya's capital Tripoli. Christians hardly dare to leave their homes: "We celebrate Holy Mass as in the times of the great persecutions."

The government and parliament have fled to Tobruk. The Libyan Capitol has sunk into chaos: "Since the West has militarily intervened, armed bands have the say."

The end of August saw the Islamist Misrata Brigade, the Libyan Dawn, capture the international airport In Tripoli. Parliament and government then tool flight. The security situation in the Libyan capital since then has been a "nightmare". "Defenseless, above all are the Christians, says Pater Amado Baranquel for the Catholic News Service.

Celebrating Mass in Secret

The Franciscan priest was a pastor for Philippine guest workers in Libya before the war. Their number before the war was about 13,000. Today he cares for all of the Christians. "For two weeks Christians have hardly dared to leave their homes any more," says Pater Amado. They are afraid of being abused or even killed. "There is no rule of law any more in the city. We don't know who might protect us or come to help us. All Holy Masses have to be celebrated in private in secret and private homes, as in the old times during the great persecutions," is how the Franciscan described the difficult situation.

In Libya there are daily conflicts between Islamists and forces loyal to the government. There are check points on the streets. Before getting to the control point you don't exactly know which side set it up. "Who can we trust? Whom can we ask for help? The question will remain open until we know who will take over the government."

"The Church Stands by Her People"

The situation in Bengazi, the second largest city in Libya, which is controlled by Islamists, is no different. "The Church stands with Her people," exclaims Sylvester Margi, Apostolic Vicar of Bengazi for the Catholic Church, besides the Orthodox Copts and the Greek Orthodox who have excavated their priests from the city. "The Catholic Church has decided to take the religious sisters out of Bengazi into safety." The danger of rape is too great, says the Apostolic Vicar, who is remaining behind in the city.

"We don't know what the future will bring. At the moment there are two governments, two warring parties and countless associated militias and battle groups. nicht, was die Zukunft bringen wird. There are at present not intermediaries," says Pater Amado.

The 115 Parliament members live with their families on a Greek luxury liner about 1.500 Kilometers from the Capitol of Tripoli. They seem prepared to go further into exile. Neither US-Präsident Obama, NATO or the Inited Nations, who toppled the previous president Muammar al-Gaddafi, and simultaneously plummeted the land into it's current chaos, show the least interest to change the situation. The same goes for the EU, despite Libya being a point of departure for most of the immigrants who are attempting to get to the EU through Lampadusa.

Bishop Bars "Mass for Remarried and Homosexuals"

Graz-Seckauer diocesan priests have provoked with controversial Masses. Bishop Kapellari puts on the emergency brake. Priest: "We will not completely ignore the ban of the bishop, but also not entirely obey."

Graz (kath.net) The Graz diocesan Bishop, Egon Kapellari, has banned a controversial "Mass for remarried and homosexuals" in the parish of St. Margaret, as reported by the "Kleine Zeitung". The one responsible for the provocation was the pastor of the local parish community, Bernhard Preiss. A few months earlier, Preiss had carried out a similar event, then, there were protests by Catholics. Now Kapellari is pulling the emergency brake. Kapellari said to the newspaper: "It was simply an isolated event against the ecclesiastical order which will not take place." The Graz bishop stressed that a priest could not arbitrarily grant simply that divorced and remarried may go to Communion: "That neither the Pope, even I as a bishop, can not do this either. We even take care of remarried and homosexuals in personal conversations in counseling," said the Bishop of Graz.

But Preiss would like to further provoke and shared in his parish bulletin with that he  especially respects the will of the bishop. There will however be considered  "a continuation in another form."  To the "Kleine Zeitung" Preiss explains then: "I do not want to simply delete the Mass, we will not totally ignore the ban of the  bishop, but we will also not entirely follow it either. Now creativity is called for."

Pope Francis to Speak Before EU on 25 November

(Brussels / Vatican) Pope Francis is coming on November 25 to address the European Parliament in Strasbourg.Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi confirmed this today in a press statement on the Pope's visit. The invitation came from European Parliament President Martin Schulz (SPD).
The invitation had been issued on March 19, 2013 on the day of inauguration of Pope Francis in Rome.Schulz said at the time: "I hope to welcome the pope  as soon as possible to send a European and universal message about the core values that are needed today more than ever."
The  President of the German Bishops' Conference and soon the European Bishops' Conferences (COMECE), Archbishop Reinhard Marx of Cardinal of Munich and Freising spoke of "very good news". The German cardinal sees a "strong signal by the Pope in support and encouragement of European integration". The Pope "recognizes the success of the European project and, not least, the peace dividend, for which the EU has received the Nobel Peace Prize." This second speech of a pope before the EU Parliament will underline the "continuing support of the Church for the high ideals of European integration" , says Marx.
Will Pope Francis  find critical words about the socio-political orientation of the EU, as  uncritical and statesmanlike occurred to the German Cardinal?
In 1988 Pope John Paul II had spoken to the European Parliament.. A speech by Pope Benedict XVI. did not materialize.

Cardinal Danneels at the Bishops' Synod -- And the Media is Silent

Cardinals Kasper and Danneels
(Vatican / Brussels) The personal appointment of Cardinal Walter Kasper to the Bishops at the  Bishops' Synod on the Family does not surprise. The appointment of Cardinal Godfried Danneels on the other hand, very much. And yet the media elicits  no sound. Was it not until recently completely different?
Pope Francis personally appointed, not surprisingly, Cardinal Walter Kasper to the Synod of the Bishops' Synod on the Family, which starts in Rome on October 5.The purple wearing German theologian is regarded as the spokesman of a radical intervention against the sacrament of marriage. The indissolubility of marriage is to be torpedoed in the name of charity and to allow  communion for remarried divorcees. For this purpose, a dialectical mechanism is employed, which will make Communion available "for all" in the future as well.  The formula is also one of the most radical attacks against the Catholic Church. It will  be implicitly assumed by Kasper, that the previous 2000 years  have been merciless to people.

Cardinal Danneels Appointed personally by Pope Francis to Synod

Far more surprising is the appointment of the Archbishop Emeritus of Mechelen-Brussels, Godfried Cardinal Danneels by Pope Francis. A search in the vastness of the Internet yielded only one article that deals critically with this appointment. This surprised not even the secular media, where not the slightest criticism is felt. Are all non-Catholic journalists become so papal, that they have chosen the statement "Who am I to judge"  as the theme?
Was it so different between media and Danneels a few years ago?
2010, the then Primate of Belgium was drawn into the pedophilia scandal that rocked the country. Danneels was accused of having covered offenders. The articles published on this are legion. It was still then,  sine  Pope Benedict XVI. reigned in Rome, that the media struck at every opportunity and tried to put the pressure on.
The climate of liberal-lascivious on the  part of the Belgian church was then known. The media did not in any way draw a connection at the time  between the liberal church order and criminal sexual debauchery. Danneels was not criticized as a liberal Church representatives. The aim was to put the Church and its teachings in the pillory. Danneels and his responsibility was not the addressee, but only a means to an end for the criticism of the Church. It was also symptomatic of the fact that Danneels successor, the "conservative" Archbishop Leonard received in 2010 just a few weeks after his inauguration received more punches from the Belgian media  than the progressive Danneels in his entire 30 years in office.

Conclave 2013: In One Fell Swoop, Everything was Different

Even in 2013 on the eve of the conclave many media insisted on the exclusion of at least three voters. Among them was the emeritus archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels. Again was the campaign was not so much Danneels, but the Church, which was put under pressure before the conclave. The motto was blatantly: no Ratzinger II pontificate. Danneels retired with a serious look into the conclave and came out again with his face beaming. With the election of Pope Francis everything  had changed  in one fell swoop.
Just now Danneels was usued as "proof" to place the church under a general suspicion of pedophilia, or even worse, criminal activity, because pedo criminals were covered for. But on the day after the conclave, Danneels joined the Thanksgiving Mass of the newly elected Pope in the Sistine Chapel as the first  cardinal priest to say a prayer.
The attacks were swept away at a stroke, as if  the  scandal headlines  incited in the media, the club-swinging modern non-religious moral high ground, the house searches in the archbishop's palace, the seizure of mountains documents, even the impious desecration of Bishops graves by a media fueled, the out of control prosecutor and invading with crowbars police had never happened.

Target of the Media Campaign's "Pedophilia Scandal" was Benedict XVI.

All of a sudden ended the media storm over Danneels and another cardinal, who is very active on Twitter. "I never thought that yesterday's appointment would have been made, if only out of respect for Benedict XVI., who was then the real target of the attacks," said Chiesa e Postconcilio on Tuesday. From today's perspective, it is inescapable in fact,  that  the media scandal that exploded in 2010  on the international level  was not concerned with the claimed subject and even less about the victims. The media campaign, for such it was, had a very different target in sight: Pope Benedict XVI.
Today, since the German Pope is out of the race, each appointment is possible, even the most impossible and nobody even raises the slightest objection. What was that again with the victims, their fate had allegedly wept about  by so many and so loudly on their as their  chests swelled with moral indignation?
There were no secular or religious institutions that fought with such clarity and such emphasis against the scandalous phenomenon of pedophilia in its ranks, such as the Catholic Church was under Benedict XVI worldwide. Who cares!

Fight Against Pontificate of Benedict XVI. Began on 19 April 2005

In fact, here the evidence is on the table, that the pontificate of the German Pope would have been totally different if the mass media and those who influence them (and who else everything outside and inside the Church) had not decided on 19 April 2005  to give him a low blow while playing the armchair generals.
The personal appointment of Cardinal Danneels by Pope Francis to  talk about the family, is one of those items that do not fit together. Or is it just a good match? Danneels, in 2005 was "shaken" on the evening of the election of Benedict XVI. (Domenico Savino) and remained away from  the traditional dinner of Cardinals for the newly elected Pope. In 2013 he was, according to his own admission, part of the electoral alliance that  named Jorge Mario Bergoglio Pope. Despite secrecy, all of the Belgian media already knew on March 14, from Danneels report that he had voted for Bergoglio.

"Gay marriage" -Danneels May Now Cultivate The  Family

The progressive attitude of the Belgian Cardinal is known also in terms of the sacrament of marriage and remarried divorcees. In June, barely three months after the conclave and one and a half months before the papal press conference on the return flight from Rio de Janeiro, Danneels called for the approval of "gay marriage".
Is something owed by the Pope to the Cardinal? Or friends of the Cardinal? Or is it the common closeness of both Cardinals to the late Jesuit Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini, (+2012) who saw himself as the Ante-Pope? Whether  Pope contender or no, the the pun  will have elegantly expressed, that Martini saw himself as a progressive anti-Pope to John Paul II, without explicitly saying so.

Consecration of Corsica to Mary with Traditional Mass

Notre Dame de la Serra  Mary Queen of
Corsica
(Ajaccio) Bishop Olivier de Germay Ajaccio celebrated High Mass on Sunday, the 7th September, at the pilgrimage  Notre Dame de la Serra to Upper Calvi. The Marian shrine located high above the city on a cliff with a magnificent view. There has been a miraculous image of the Blessed Virgin Mary there for more than 500 years, showing her Assumption. This year there is a renewal of a consecration   of the island to the "Queen of Corsica". A Holy Mass was celebrated in the Immemorial Rite.
Every year on the first Sunday in September, a pilgrimage to Notre Dame de la Serra takes place. The walls around the church bear witness to the turbulent events, to which the Mediterranean island was exposed.  Through a donation from the Frankish king Pippin III., the father of Charlemagne, Corsica has belonged since 750 to the Papal States until the island was annexed in 1347 by the Republic of Genoa. The island was often the victims of Muslim pirates from North Africa. In 1553 Corsica  was  even occupied by the unholy Franco-Ottoman alliance. As the Corsicans in the 18th century wanted to shake off the Genoese rule, there were  several uprisings, and Genoa  sold the island to France, which annexed Corsica in 1770.

Mary "Queen of Corsica"

On the hill above Calvi  until the late 18th century there was a hermitage, where the hermit lived intermittently by the miraculous image of grace. In 1735, Corsica still belonged at that time  to Genoa, but aspired to independence, under the protection of Our Lady, when she was made the "Queen of Corsica".  In 1794, during a brief English occupation in the turmoil of the French Revolution, the church was badly damaged, but rebuilt again after the end of the Napoleonic era. On 18 May 1935, the then Bishop of Ajaccio, Rodié undertook the renewal of the consecration to Mary.
Bishop de Germay decided to renew the consecration of Corsica one more time in 2014  to the Virgin Mary in all parishes of the island. The novena began last August 30.   From the 6th-8th September  it took place on the pilgrimage to the Marian mountain of Calvi.
Fearing a theft, the miraculous image is now in the parish church of Saint Marie Majeure of Calvi. From there, it is annually brought up on the mountain to the traditional pilgrimage.

Traditional Rite in Notre Dame de la Serra

On Saturday, in the church built in 1479,  Notre Dame de la Serra is open all day for the pilgrims. A  procession was lead up the mountain, where Holy Mass was celebrated, which was lit by torchlight.
On Sunday, a Holy Mass was said at 8 o'clock on the mountain  in the traditional Rite, then, a Pontifical Mass was said at 10:30    in the New Rite by Bishop Olivier de Germay. By 4 o'clock there was a Eucharistic blessing with a procession around the sanctuary and the opportunity to gain an indulgence.
On Monday, the Feast of the Nativity of Mary, ,  the consecration renewal of Corsica to the Virgin Mary took place during Holy Mass at 10:30.

Who Are the Participants in the Bishops' Synod on Family?

(Vatican) 253 participants, are going to the III. Extraordinary Assembly of the Synod of BishopsAmong them, 14 couples will be present as experts or as auditors. The published list of the participants was announced by the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops on Tuesday. From the 5th-19th October, they will speak at the Vatican on the theme "The pastoral challenges of the family in the context of evangelization".
Previously there were only two extraordinary meetings in the years 1969 and 1985, which dealt with the relationship between Episcopal Conferences and collegiality of the bishops and with the implementation of the Second Vatican Council.
Of the 253 participants in 2014 191 will be actual Synod Fathers. Of these 162 will take  part from their own offices: including 25 Leaders of Dicasteries of the Roman Curia, 114 Presidents of the Bishops from around the world (36 from Africa, 32 from Europe, 24 from America, 18 from Asia and four from Oceania) and thirteen representatives to Rome of Uniate Eastern Churches, including representatives of the persecuted Christians of the Middle East and the Chaldean Patriarch of Baghdad, Raphael Louis I. Sako, Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk as well as the majority of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Add to this the Secretary-General, the Under Secretary and the members of the Permanent Council of the Synod of Bishops, like Archbishop Timothy Cardinal Dolan of New York, Archbishop Donald Cardinal Wuerl of Washington, Archbishop Luis Cardinal Tagle of Manila, Archbishop Odilo Cardinal Scherer of Sao Paulo and Archbishop Wilfrid Cardinal Napier of Durban, where they are not already participating in other functions like Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, who is also chairman of the Austrian Bishops' Conference.
Three other synod fathers are posted by the Federation of Superiors General of the Catholic religious orders. It is the Superior General of the Jesuits, the Capuchins and the Josephites of St.. Leonardo Murialdo.

The Synod Personally Appointed by Pope Francis

26 Synod members are directly appointed by the Pope. Among them is Cardinal Walter Kasper (Germany); Cardinal Godfried Danneels (Belgium); Cardinal Angelo Sodano (Dean of the College of Cardinals); Father Antonio Spadaro SJ, the editor of the Roman Jesuit journal La Civiltà Cattolica ; Titular Archbishop Victor Manuel Fernandez, the special supporter of Pope Francis Rector of the Pontifical University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Cardinal Fernando Sebastian Aguilar, a personal friend of the Pope, who a few months ago was ruled against by the Spanish prosecutor's office because of "homophobia". Also included will be Archbishop Cardinal Carlo Caffarra of Bologna and Archbishop Angelo Cardinal Scola of Milan.
The synod fathers are still 62 other participants who are divided into three groups. They include 16 experts who are invited to work with the Special Secretary Archbishop Bruno Forte of Chieti-Vasto (Italy), including the couple Francesco Miano (Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome and former President of Italian Catholic Action) and Giuseppina Miano-De Simone (Professor of Philosophy at the Faculty of Theology of Naples).

Fourteen couples as experts and auditors

The second group consists of 38 auditors who have speaking rights but not voting rights, including thirteen couples. A couple comes out of Iraq as a "witness of Christian family life in an Islamic environment". The other couples are from Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Philippines, South Africa, Chile, Rwanda, Lebanon, Italy, Australia, France and two married couples from the USA.
The third group consists of eight "fraternal delegates" of other Christian Churches as observers: Bishop Hilarion, the "foreign minister" of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church; Metropolitan Athenagoras as a representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople; Ndanganeni Peter Phaswaha, as representative of the Lutheran World Federation; Benebo Fubara-Manuel as a representative of the World Communion of Reformed Churches; Valerie Duval-Poujol as representative of the Baptist World Alliance, Paul Butler, representing the Anglican world community as well as representatives of the Syrian Orthodox and the Coptic Orthodox Church.
From the German-speaking area   come following Synod: Archbishop Reinhard Marx, Cardinal  of Munich and Freising as President of the German Bishops' Conference; Archbishop Christoph Cardinal Schönborn of Vienna as President of the Austrian Bishops' Conference; Bishop Markus Büchel of Sankt Gallen as President of the Swiss Bishops' Conference; Cardinal Gerhard Müller as Prefect of the Congregation for Doctrine and the Faith; Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity; Cardinal Walter Kasper (personally appointed by the Pope) and Ute Eberl as auditor.
Little good can be expected from Ute Eberl   as representative of the  Pastoral Marriage and Family.  Vatican Radio interviewed her about the appointment, as she said today:
I expect that  because of the questionnaire, which has shown significant results in Germany, we will provide some answers as a church and world church. People of faith have said: this is how we live. And that does not fit with what the Church tells us. Now the Church is about to give answers. My big expectation is that we are going to get there together on the way to look at how we can  serve the people who live in marriage and family, I stress that: can be served - with all its challenges in happy and very unhappy days that are there too.
It is very different world wide when the Instrumentum Laboris is read through. For the German Church, I think, the really the big question is how do we deal with the issue of divorce and remarriage; and how will we deal with it if same-sex couples want a blessing of the Church. The big question is, how can we, the people today- and I live in Berlin in a city where the Catholic Church has always been a minority -  how can we proclaim the good news in this situation.
I think the extraordinary Synod is really there for the questions that need to be on the list which we can find out together. It will  probably be decided only a year later. But it is a pastoral synod. It is to highlight ways.  And because I think  the exchange with one another is very important. "

Reorganization of the Synod?

In two weeks, the synod, the experts and auditors will discuss the Instrumentum laboris  the working paper, which was distributed by the General Secretariat in June. The aim of the Synod was there, says Secretary Lorenzo Cardinal Baldisseri, "in order to show today's world  the beauty and the value of the family, resulting from the proclamation of Jesus Christ, who takes away  anxiety and gives hope"
The Synod's efforts are also held as a new way to promote a "dynamic participation" of the Synod Fathers. We will take steps says Cardinal Baldisseri, "to adopt rules or lay hands on a real reorganization of the Synod organism". The cardinal didn't name details.
There are no final documents  provided, as it is only to "the first stage" of the Synod of Bishops, with the 14th Ordinary Session of the 4th-25th October 2015 under the theme  "Jesus Christ reveals the mystery and appeal of the family"  which will conclude  its second stage.

Things Never Seen Nor Heard From the Chair of Peter in All of History

September 8, 2014  | Communication to the Editor

Things Never Heard or Seen from the Chair of Peter

From the guest house Sanctae Martæ in the Vatican, which can hardly be described as the seat of the Holy See, Pope Francis will sound off again after the summer break  not only with Manichaean and ambiguous judgments without adequate explanatory depth, with which Catholics are divided into two groups, but also daring personal interpretations of Scripture. The person responsible in the Vatican has resumed the proliferation of "morning meditations"  on the website of the Vatican, including highlighting false allegations.
The most recent example is attributed to Pope Francis Saint Paul: "I must indeed boast of my sins." Prince of the Apostles "boasts" of his sins? One is amazed and shakes his head in disbelief. Of course this can only be done, by one who at least has a certain capacity for church teaching and some familiarity with the Scriptures.

Incorrect Rendition of the Apostle Paul

St. Paul speaks in the 12th chapter of the Second Epistle to the Corinthians in no way of sin, but of his "weakness". In the NASB it says: "(...) On behalf of such a man I will boast; but on my own behalf I will not boast, except in regard to my weaknesses." (2 Corinthians 12.5). The Greek word used by the apostle, is ἀσθένεια (astheneia), which means simply "weakness" and not "sin".
In addition, Prince of the Apostles at this point explains very well what his "weakness" is: "He [the Lord] replied to me: My grace is sufficient for thee; for you, for power in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I affirm my weaknesses, insults and hardships, persecutions, and fears which I stand for Christ; For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12.9 to 10). The weakness the apostle speaks of, are the physical and mental suffering, which he enumerates, but not the sin.
At this point the eschatological paradigm shift resulting from the  quote incorrectly reproduced by Pope Francis need not be gone into. Just this: "O happy fault", the felix culpa of the Exultet is not what's meant.

Who Prevents Retransmission of Erroneous Pope's Statements?

The "liberal" interpretation of the Gospel by the Pope has something grotesque in it and you want a little bashful concern about the wide veil of silence. Were it only not for the media dissemination, making giving the Pope's words their significance. And were it not for the absence or better, the silence of those who fulfill their responsibilities and should have the courage to rectify what should be corrected. Instead, the improvised words of the Argentine Pope in the Vatican,  are disseminated without censorship  and stylized by compliant  Vaticanists into "pearls".
The above example is not an isolated incident, but one of a lengthening series of offensive Bible "interpretations". But where are the priests, the bishops, the cardinals who will raise their voices against it and at least prevent the proliferation half-baked blurbs ? Instead, is there not even the murmur of a contradiction? Is there so little faith, even of church leaders, in the power of words, that they consider false ideas as well as false gestures empty of consequences?

Death Rune and John Lennon's world "Without Religion"

Just as no one in the Vatican raised an objection when "the pope wanted emphatically" an Interreligious football match for peace, although the program was known in advance and announced that before the kickoff, the daringly clothed Argentine singer Martina Stoessel with a dubious Death Rune on her stomach (commonly known as "peace sign"), sang the song Imagine  published in 1971  by John Lennon:
Imagine there's no heaven / It's easy if you try / No hell below us / About us only sky / Imagine all the people / living for today  / Imagine there's no countries / It's easy if you try / Nothing to kill or die for  / and no religion too / Imagine all the people  / living life in peace.
Cohorts of "Normalists"  have certainly prepared detailed explanations for it at hand. Perhaps: "It was just a football game ..." The song Imagine follows from minute 4:40 in the video. Friends and I have followed  Riscossa Christiana's call and instead of watching the football game,  prayed for  persecuted brothers and sisters in the Middle East.

Edit: we also noticed someone waving the rainbow flag in the audience.  Coincidence?

Cardinal Duka: "The Dissolution of the Family is a Civil Hiroshima"

Chairman of the Czech Bishops' Conference: The "planned destruction of the family" by "certain ideological currents" is "a civil nuclear war,"  that is "a larger and more painful reality than any economic crisis".

Prague (kath.net/KAP) On the occasion of the Church's "Year of the Family" a National Family Pilgrimage was held in the Czech Republic. These gathered in Zdar nad Sazavou (Saar at the Sázava) more than 5,000 children, parents and grandparents, to jointly lay a commitment to family. Just before the event the complex on the Zelena Hora (the Green Mountain)in the Diocese of Brno had been handed back into the care of the Catholic Church. The President of the Czech Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Archbishop of Prague Dominik Duka (photo) gave the sermon last Sunday on both occasions.

The "planned destruction of the family" by "certain ideological currents" is "a civil nuclear war," said Duka. Because it will put society in the same "state as Hiroshima after the atomic explosion". This decline has been "a larger and more painful reality than any economic crisis."

Attacks on the family set the stage where man is isolated and enslaved, said the Bohemian Primate. The first step in the subjugation of African slaves was not by chance the destruction of their families, reminded Duka.

Motioning to the event location the cardinal said, the restitutions presented "a gradual termination of the financing of Church operation by the state". What Church and society would most need is a "return of marriage and family in their original condition".

Designed by the Prague architect Giovanni Santin Aichel, the pilgrimage complex on the Green Mountain at Saar is a major work of the so-called Bohemian Baroque Gothic. Its inclusion as a UNESCO World Heritage Site was 20 years ago this weekend, was a commemoration for the festivities from the 5th to 7th of September.

The transition of pilgrimage area, the cemetery and the property to the Church is a sensitive issue, says local pastor Vladimir Zalesky. Above all, we strive to return to regular pilgrimages, church services and an expansion of the spiritual and cultural offerings outside the tourist season.

Particular attention will be given to the selection and training of church leaders. They should learn to master its renunciation, the numerology and ascenticism of John of Nepomuk Church and communicate to the Faithful as well as those not close to the Church through its strange enclosure wall.

North Rhine- Westphalia Bans "Sharia Police" Vests

Wearing vests with the word "sharia police" is now forbidden in North Rhine-Westphalia and is a punishable offense. The police should "proceed against such would-strip with all the police agents"

Dusseldorf (kath.net) Wearing vests with the words "sharia police" is now forbidden in North Rhine-Westphalia and is a punishable offense. Interior Minister Ralf Jäger told WDR that he had published this, a police decree. This was reported by "ARD". Police reportedly will "act against all such want-to-be police agents", including the identity verification and the removal of the vest, or any other things that abuse the name of the police. Jäger maintains that the actions of the so-called Sharia police were no longer covered with the fundamental right to religious freedom. "To proselytize people, and discharge themselves acting as a police patrol", this has the population so insecure that the police have set up a citizens' phone.

In Wuppertal men were wearing yellow or orange safety vests with the words "sharia police" and insisted on a life lived in strict accordance with Islam. They demanded among other things the following behavioral rules: No alcohol, no drugs, no pornography, no gambling, no music and no concerts.

Cardinal Marx "Affirms" the Indissolubility of Marriage

Edit: I see what you did there.

DBK-Chairman: Church is bound up in this question to the word of Jesus. Sacramental recognition of the second relationship after failure of the first is "excluded".  But there are "Other forms of recognition"  to be considered.

Frankfurt (kath.net/KNA) The chairman of the German Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Reinhard Marx (photo), has reaffirmed the Catholic understanding of the indissolubility of marriage. The Church is bound up in this question to the word of Jesus, said the Archbishop of Munich and Freising, "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" (Friday). At the same time, malif Marx admitted that the church had to face the fact that marriages fail and break up families.

"We need to overcome silence in the face of failure," Marx said. So the question arises, what does the Church have to say about a second relationship, which also could have its "own moral quality". A sacramental recognition is, however, in the words of the Cardinal "excluded". But probably there are "other forms of recognition" which have not yet been considered sufficient, says Marx. Further details were not mentioned by the Cardinal.

He did not anticipate the Synod of Bishops being convened by Pope Francis on matters of marriage and family.

In the fall, the bishops will meet in the Vatican, to discuss these issues. A second meeting is planned in the coming year.

Individual theologians refer to overlooking the handling remarried divorcees considering the practice of the Eastern Churches, in which, although no second marriage is consummated, the second relationship can blessed as a community of responsibility. Another question in this context is the admission to the sacraments. Under current understanding, the divorced and remarried are excluded from receiving communion.

New "Foreign Minister" in the Vatican? --- Continuing Reassignments by the Pope

Vatican Foreign Minister Dominque Mamberti
(Vatican) Pope Francis is preparing for the renovation of the Vatican "foreign ministry". The former "foreign minister" of the Holy See, the French Curial Archbishop Dominique Mamberti  will probably  be dismissed. While the overall reform of the Roman Curia is still written in the stars, Pope Francis is making more heads of Benedict XVI's  Curia roll. A few days ago  the Curial Cardinal Prefect Cañizares, then the secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy, was hit. Another of his Prefects, Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, had to vacate his seat a year ago.
In mid-September,  the C8-Kardinalsrat , formed by Pope Francis as an advisory body for the reform of the Curia and the management of the world Church will meet. In the beginning of July  it's been the fifth meeting of a C9-Council, since  Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin  then was also added to the C8-Council. A formal act of the membership of the Cardinal Secretary of State in this body, has not yet taken place, as the Vatican expert Sandro Magister mentions.
It will be at the sixth meeting of this committee. The seventh meeting follows from 9-11 December and the eighth meeting on 9-11 February 2015.  The work of the Cardinal Council  still seems to be in the preliminary phase. "There are no designs for a new apostolic constitution," said Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi at the end of the fifth meeting, "It takes time."

 "Little Ratzinger" Promoted to Valencia

Benedict XVI. and the "Little Ratzinger" Cardinal Antonio Cañizares
The "ruling bishop of Rome" (Sandro Magister)  already related soon after his election  that he did not intend to wait for the reform of the Curia to make personnel decisions.  It had been expected for months when on August 28th, the removal of the Spanish Cardinal Cañizares Llovera of the Roman Curia took place.  Cardinal Cañizares was   Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship under Benedict XVI. and became a supporter of the "reform of the liturgical reform". He had a close relationship to the Church understanding of the German Pope, which he shared with Cardinal Mauro Piacenza. Too close for  Pope Francis.  He  "promoted" the "little Ratzinger", as the Cardinal is known for his bodily stature, who is content but not necessarily aptly, called back to his home and named him Archbishop of Valencia, after all, "one of the most vibrant Dioceses of the Iberian Peninsula," says Sandro Magister.

What responsibilities will remain the Congregation for Divine Worship?

Officially, Francis Pope had the transfer not imposed, but only responded to the wishes of the Cardinal to want to accept "the smell of the sheep". Cardinal Cañizares that, if they did, "dear Madrid would have preferred Valencia, is a different story," said Master.
A successor to Prefect Cañizares  of the important Congregation of Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has not yet been appointed. For Sandro Magister  it appears as "unlikely" that Pope Francis will seek a "break" with   Benedict XVI. in his choice of successor. Rather it would is much more to be what responsibilities the Pope leaves the Congregation,  transferring them to the Episcopal Conferences, such as responsibility for the review and revision of the liturgical books.

The Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy is Also Promoted Back to Spain

Celso Morga Iruzubieta: Secretary of the Congregation for the Clergy is Coadjutor Archbishop in Spain
According to Spanish media reports, the return of another high prelate to Spain is imminent, who currently holds a leading position in the Roman Curia. It is Curial Archbishop Celso Morga Iruzubieta. The priest of Opus Dei has been since 2010 the Secretary of the Congregation for  Clergy . Now he is to be Coadjutor Archbishop in the Archdiocese of Merida Badajoz in Extremadura.
This completes the repluisti Pope Francis, the "repudiation" of one of the most important offices of the Roman Curia. The Congregation for the Clergy is concerned among other things with  disputes between priests and bishops, with the dispensing of the priestly duties (except the delicta graviora ), with the sale of church property over a certain value. By the will of Benedict XVI.  it was give charge of the seminaries. Above all, it is also about the image of priesthood and thus  the self-image of the priest. The successful prevention of the appointment of the saintly Curé of Ars Patron of Priests, which Benedict XVI. wanted to make, is still vividly remembered.
The removal of the Number Two of the Congregation follows that of the number one, Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, which Pope Francis had already carried out in September 2013. Both were by Pope Benedict XVI. been appointed. Cardinal Piacenza still comes from the Genoese school of Cardinal Giuseppe Siri. On him the diplomat Beniamino Stella followed. For the seminars appointed Francis one additional Assistant Secretary, the Sino-Mexican Curia Archbishop Jorge Carlos Patron Wong. In addition, over the past year such a strong exchange of employees in this Pontifical Council was held that Roman observers speak of an unprecedented precedent.

"Foreign Minister" Mamberti Before Dismissal

The new curial organization chart of Pope Francis stands at the edge of another reshuffle. Curial Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, head of the Section for Relations with States in the Secretariat of State and thus "foreign minister" of the Holy See is to be replaced. The reasons for the action are not known. It can at best be speculated about as a change of course in the relations with the states and international bodies.
"It will be interesting to see whether the Pope in this case will follow the unwritten law that the Vatican's 'foreign minister' is awarded  at the end of his service with the dignity of Cardinal," said Sandro Magister. The predecessors Mambertis were  given this honor,  from Giovanni Lajolo, Jean-Louis Tauran, Angelo Sodano, Achille Silvestrini, Agostino Casaroli to Antonio Samore, etc.

Vengeful Bergoglio

Jean-Louis Bruguès, archivist and Librarian of the Holy Catholic Church, but not Cardinal
Or is Pope Francis denying Mamberti  the cardinal's purple, as he is - in spite of unwritten law - the Archivist and Librarian of Holy Roman Church, rejected Curial Archbishop Jean-Louis Bruguès? The French Dominican Bruguès had, as Secretary of the Congregation for Education (2007-2012), skirmishes with the rector of the Catholic University of Buenos Aires, and was discharged  Victor Manuel Fernández. Fernández is considered a "foster son" of Jorge Mario Bergoglios,  and he was -  just as soon as Bergolio was elected pope - quite unusually, immediately promoted him to  Archbishop, while he avenged  himself on Father Bruguès for his criticism of Fernández.
Pope Francis justifies his appointments  in the Diplomatic Corps of the Vatican on renewal. For this reason, it seems very likely that the successor of Mambertis will come from the ranks of diplomats. It is likely he will also be  valued by Cardinal Secretary of State Parolin nuncio.
With the exception of the two French Archbishops Mamberti and Cardinal Tauran and  Poland's Wlodzimierz Czacki at the end of the 19th century,  all were the "foreign minister" of the Vatican in Italy. Just  as both the Cardinal Secretary of State and his substitute, the Sarde (Sardinian) Curial Archbishop Giovanni Angelo Becciu, come from Italy, it seems unlikely that the third high position in the State Secretariat is to be staffed by an Italian. "Unlikely, but not impossible," said Sandro Magister.

Pope's Turkey Trip and An Absurd Attack on Pope Francis

Absurd accusation from Turkey: Head of state religion Office raises Francis before, not doing enough to defend the Islam

Rome / Istanbul (CBA) Reportedly, later this year Pope Francis wants to undertake a visit to Turkey and participate in Constantinople on Orthodox on the Patronal Feast of St. Andrew. Various media reports were not unfounded, it said on Friday from the Roman Church circles. A month ago there had been evidence of the Pope's participation from the Patriarchate of Constantinople in the celebrations on 30 November at the Phanar, the official residence of the Patriarch. Originally, it was named for 2015 as a possible date for the Pope's visit for the Feast of St. Andrew's.

As already his predecessor John Paul II. in 1979 and Benedict XVI. in 2006 Francis should start with a protocol-related Turkey visit to the capital Ankara. Benedict XVI. had also made a trip to the tomb of Mary at Ephesus, above the port city of Izmir in his three-day visit to Turkey. At that time, the trip took place after the discussion of the Regensburg speech of the Pope where misleading quotes on Islam and violence contributed to more objectivity.

Currently, statements by Mehmet Görmez have made headlines in Turkey. The head of the National Religion Office, who reports directly to the Turkish Prime Minister, accused Francis mid-week, of not doing enough in defense of Islam.

There were attempts to reinterpret the existence of Islam in question to making it a "security and legitimacy problem", Görmez said. Among other things, Görmez pointed to the increasing number of attacks after his presentation on mosques in Germany. In the years 2001 to 2012 there were an annual average of 22 mosques that have been attacked in the Federal Republic. In 2013 there were 36, while this year the number had increased to 70. In contrast, not only the Islamic world should fight back, but "all religious institutions, especially the Vatican."

It is not enough, "to wash the feet of a young girl or to organize an interfaith football tournament." Görmez played on the washing of the feet by the Pope on Holy Thursday and on the "football match for peace" last Monday in Rome.

Father Piotr Natanek, the Polish Savonarola

Photo ~ Father Piotr Natanek

[Vatican Insider] The strange case of a young and brilliant priest suspended a divinis by Stanislaw Dziwisz for his millenarian positions and repeated accusations against the hierarchy

Father Stanislaw explained the situation in a letter dated 20 July, reminding Father Natanek, “known for his controversial homilies and messages posted on the web,” that he had not obeyed the disciplinary directives of 28 January 2010; had disregarded the canonic admonishments of 25 May 2007, 23 February 2009, and 9 April 2010; had ignored the invitation to a meeting with his superiors; has continued his damaging utterances - including those that were prohibited; spreads opinions not approved by the Church regarding the regality of Jesus Christ, based on private revelations and inspired by the eschatological seven, which is outside of the teachings of Church doctrine; he has also publicly put into doubt the authority of priests and, not least, invalidly celebrated a marriage, without the required mandate.

Cardinal Dziwisz told Father Natanek that his actions were causing damage to his faithful followers and to the entire Church community, which fully earns him the penalty set down in Canon 1371 in the Code of Canon Law, and also Canon 1393, for repeatedly defying orders. The only response Stanislaw received occurred four days later, when Natanek celebrated a public Mass in which he bluntly accused his bishop of being a Freemason.

No one is spared by his invective, and his progression from controversial comments to insulting and denigrating dead prelates, is always a given. Speaking of Monsignor Józef Życiński - Archbishop of Lublin, a famous intellectual and supporter of Europe who died several months ago in Rome - Father Natanek “revealed” that “now the bishop is in hell, bound by the heaviest chain to Mohammed” and that “his cries can be heard in heaven.”

To the victims of the torrential rains and tornados that recently struck many parts of Poland, the priest who has been suspended a divinis, advised them to claim damages from the Curia of Krakow, implicitly accusing it of having provoked these disasters. His blatant actions increase day by day: he recently attacked a TVN 24 film crew, asking God to curse them.

Swiss Bishops' Conference Insults Bishop of Chur

Diocese of Chur in Pressecommunique: "The diocese hopes that the Bishop of Chur will not be the matter of the subject of discussions of the SBK Bureau, but be one of the participants."

Bishop Vitus Huonder at Pontifical High Mass
Givisiez (kath.net) Scandal in the Catholic Church of Switzerland. The Secretariat of the Swiss Bishops Conference has publicly snubbed the Bishop of Chur, Vitus Huonder. A conversation between a delegation of the anti-Rome-grouping "It's Enough!", which has constantly criticized the Bishop of Chur Vitus Huonder, and the Bureau of the Swiss Bishops Conference (SBK) a few days ago has been interpreted in Chur as a snub. Reason: Bishop Huonder had not been invited to participate. In a pressecommunique presented by Giuseppe Gracia, media relations officer of the diocese of Chur, read that the Diocese hopes "that the bishop of Chur will not be the subject of  the discussions at the SBK Bureau, but one of the participants. The bishop recalled  a communique dated the 5th of March, in which he noted that all Swiss bishops are united in faith."  [Obviously, they don't.]

On the other hand, there should be enough disagreement "from the initiators of 'It's Enough' to show fundamental disunity in essential elements of the faith. Therefore, a meeting will also take place with representatives of the Alliance in Chur. The goal will be a dialogue that does not stop at persons, but is creating clarity about where the initiators expect something different than what is the official teaching of the Church.

Recently, a disagreement between the initiators and the Episcopal Conference was demonstrated again. The Bishop of Chur has said he was "confident that the way a factual work-up can demonstrate that it is not about people or on questions of communication style, but specific to the rejection of concrete beliefs".  Bishop Huonder is planning a meeting in Chur, which will serve the debate on these issues.

Hans Küng the "Exegete of the Pope" Needs Help: He is In Danger of Suicide

Is Hans Küng in Danger of Suicide?
(Rome) The left-liberal Italian daily La Repubblica flirts with being  the "house paper" of Pope Francis.  It also wants to set the "standards of value" from this position. This includes effusive praise for Hans Küng's latest book on euthanasia. The theologian suffers from Parkinson's whome Repubblica has presented as the "exegete of the Pope". Küng seems seriously suicidal. More than that: His book dedication sounds like an imminent suicide. Will Küng savor his rebellion against the Church until the bitter end?
The newspaper founder Eugenio Scalfari, in his well-known atheist and anticlerical from Masonic tradition, has been granted  generous access, correspondence and interviews of the Argentine Pope.  The other, trendsetting left media throughout the world is influenced by La Repubblica.   Reciprocally La Republica  forms the Italian link to an international media chain with ideological affinity.

La Repubblica "Papal" Steering Committee?

It is unclear, still, how the unusual contact came exactly about. Neither Pope Francis nor Scalfari has  hinted so far,  to have met each before the conclave. According to the representation of the doyen of left-liberal journalism Pope Francis was looking for the contact after Scalfari had written rhetorical questions to the Pope in the summer of 2013 in two editorials.
The pope reads La Repubblica ? What caused the Pope, to "request" to respond precisely to Scalfaris? The use of this style means ultimately belongs to the everyday routine in media, as just proved. Or put it another way: Who has Pope Francis and why come to this contact?
Whatever the case. La Repubblica benefits heartily since it is the nimbus of a "quasi-papal" steering committee. So also when it comes to those "Catholic" positions and  to showcase people who are Scalfaris' lodge mates. This includes both the German theologian Hans Küng and the "newest" concern: the legalization of euthanasia.

Hans Küng's Pamphlet: "Die Happy?"

Hans Küng: Die Happy
La Repubblica  announced the appearance of a new book by the former Conciliar Peritus in a one page article . "The decision of Hans Küng: 'I, a German theologian will alone decide when and how to die,' said the grandiose headline. It was followed by the subtitle that Küng has 'newly opened' with his new book, the "discussion about the good death".  Scalfaris' Daily  employs its considerable propaganda effort, in which it has admittedly rich experience. Much effort for the 160 page pamphlet published on September 1st,  entitled  "Die Happy?" (Piper, Munich, 2014), which ultimately contained the easily predictable cud  of the usual undigested and indigestible, relentlessly boring catho-progressive positions. But for La Repubblica there is  no fanfare critical of the church that is too weird, too insignificant to be untenable, as that they had not broadcast it loudly in text and image.
The international left-liberal media chain works. Finally, the West German counterpart,   Süddeutsche Zeitung has already published a mega review by Matthias Drobinski. The domino effect of Hans Kung's book has passed around the globe. The book also includes a discussion by TV presenter Anne Will with Hans Küng. Will offered an interview with the chairman of the euthanasia organization Dignitas in 2007 and 2009 the German "death helper" and former Hamburg Senator, Roger Kusch, on her talk show as a platform for their euthanasia theses. In November 2013, she  broadcast the interview with Hans Küng under the "cute" title ""Euthanasia - the Good Death ", which has now been printed in the book.

The "Exegete of the Pope" and the Dark Evil  Prefect of the CDF

Since La Repubblica not stand back, but - "ennobled" by special papal benevolence - lay it on  a bit.  Repubblica author Andrea Tarquini presents Hans Küng as "one of the greatest Catholic theologians of our time, the great rebel (but exegete of Pope Francis)" . Thus it is written, literally: Hans Küng is the "exegete" of the Pope. La Repubblica must know. Until now, the Vatican was quite shy about denying the paper. And yet when it has happened, then in the form of a rather ambiguous balancing act. Vatican spokesman Father Lombardi SJ is not  an enviable man.
In fact, Hans Küng had announced last spring, that he  no longer has to be one of the "Pope's critics" since the election of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio. For Pope Francis had "overcome" that "unnecessary doctrinal pettiness" of the indissolubility of sacramental marriage, and was already ready to finally justify the killing of unborn children and to consider the admission of women priests. In short, all the best under the starry sky of Küng and Scalfari? Yes, if not for the dark evil, backward-looking pressure of the CDF and its prefect"  Gerhard Cardinal Ludwig Müller. Is Cardinal Müller even blame that Hans Küng is suicidal today?

Who is Surprised by Hans Kung's Euthanasia Support?

What did the "exegete of the Pope" proclaim ex Cathedra  that progressive theologian who'd quite come to the heights of glory for the future? What is it, what is La Repubblica  announcing in a dramatic production with drum roll and fanfare? Küng argues in terms of suicide for a "differentiated attitude" to unblock the discussion between Christians and non-Christians. One is amazed. The unilateral disarmament on the Catholic side is music to  Scalfaris' ears, it is not new though, and certainly not from Hans Kung's mouth.
One marvels at La Repubblica: do Scalfaris' editors really believe this, that it was a sensation and would breathlessly tear off the stool, if someone like Hans Küng, the "great theologian" and "exegete of the Pope", who, is already for the murder of unborn children has for women priests, for  free sex with a condom, for the Communion for all, for direct democracy in the Vatican and so on so forth, and so persistently,  has now arrived,  sick at the end of his life, to also promote euthanasia?

For 20 years and Still For "The First Time"

In La Repubblica they seem to be convinced or at least seem to be doing that. Without blushing he states: "It is the first time that a great Catholic theologian has "spoken out" for the euthanasia. The explanation was delivered  just like this by Tarquini. A few lines later he writes: "Hans Küng suffers from Parkinson's disease. He is located in Switzerland in an institution and was already understood to want to end his life when the symptoms of a mental and physical decline are clearly noticeable. For a long time he has been  a member of the Swiss organization 'Exit', perhaps the most infamous in the world  to those that it helps, because they are exposed to a decline  in physical and mental abilities and intolerable pain who want to die without care. "
Apart from the fact that modern palliative care today has good pain control, Hans Küng proclaimed in 1994 that there needs to be "death with dignity". So there have been at least 20 years since Hans Küng weighed against the Church's teaching on euthanasia. For La Repubblica 20 years but are just "for the first time".

Hans Küng "prophet" of the attack on the right to life

To the contents? It is anticipated: The reading is not worthwhile. According to Hans Küng the "right to life" is in no  way derives "a  duty to live". "Since when is it derived from the right to freedom, that there is an obligation to  make stupid remarks?" was the question in the weekly magazine Tempi . No surprise there: The argumentative Salto of the justification of abortion to justify suicide is just a leap in logic. Not to mention: For those who euphemistically employ describing "euthanasia" as the "sweet death",  are doing the same as killing. The attack on the right to life of  people is always radical, brutal, categorically and ultimately boundless. Hans Küng is its "prophet".

Thinking Acrobatics: Küng Compares Martyrs with Suicides

Küng naturally knows the  preferences for linguistic acrobatics of his time. In always formulating a "positive" urge, he describes the word euthanasia   with all seriousness: "Euthanasia is understood as an extreme life coaching". He doesn't shrink from  his dialectical swoop, the willingness of the early,  persecuted Christians in the Roman Empire presented martyrdom   as a form of euthanasia. For the early Christians would have preferred to die rather than to betray their brothers and sisters. Why should  suicide, insists Küng, also be  "a way to hell"? In all seriousness,  Hans Küng equated the Christian martyrs with the ideologically  motivated suicide of Piergiorgio Welby.
So in the end  the tragic statement remains that euthanasia advocates in fact have a (nearly) Catholic theologian on their side. "But not for long if Küng wants to be a serious man", says Tempos .
