Homily by Cardinal Gerhard Müller at the Eucharistic Adoration for Life

Two days before this year's March for Life in Rome, the Eucharistic Adoration for Life took place, at which Cardinal Gerhard Müller preached a homily.

On the occasion of the Eucharistic Adoration for Life, which takes place every year just before the anniversary of the passage of the infamous law 194 that allowed abortion in Italy on May 22, 1978, Cardinal Gerhard Müller presided over the solemn ceremony in the Roman parish of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini.

This year's March for Life in Rome took place on May 22ndCardinal Müller delivered a sermon which we reproduce below:

Recently, the Holy Father has pointed out the drastic demographic decline that threatens the future of Europe and America, and it is not just a question of mere utilitarian thinking so that business and government can continue with future consumers, customers and taxpayers. The reason for this question is theological in nature:

“Man is the only creature that God willed for himself” (Second Vatican Council, Gaudium et Spes , 24), for every human being is predestined by God (as far as his present existence on earth is concerned) “in beings and form of his Son, that he may be the firstborn of many brethren" (Romans 8:29).

Every human being is embraced by God's salvific will from the moment of conception to the moment of his last breath. Therefore, any act of injustice against the life and integrity of another human being, especially the killing of a child in the womb (or even in the test tube [in vitro] or incubator) is a “despicable crime” ( Gaudium et Spes, 51). For life is sacred and protected by God Himself, as the fifth commandment of the Decalogue states:

"Thou shalt not kill" (Deut 5:17).

The legal order in all societies and states is aimed at human coexistence on the basis of morality; Morality means directing our actions towards good, based on the recognition of the fundamental dignity and rights of human beings, inherent in their nature and guaranteed by God. As human beings and Christians, we are convinced that the real (and not just abstractly theorized) physical man never exists as a purpose and instrument for something else or for the interests of others. This is the basis of our image of man and the criterion of all ethics.

On the other hand, the opposite of this is the starting point of all crimes against humanity and cynical contempt for human beings, with which Josef Stalin declared that Gulag prisoners only had a right to life because they were useful for the construction of the White Sea Canal. One Heinrich Himmler, commander of the notorious SS, said of his boss Hitler that he was "interested in the lives of a thousand Russian women only until they have dug an anti-tank trench for the Wehrmacht". And these are just two particularly drastic examples of the depths of human contempt in the political ideologies of a not too distant time. If one believes that there is overpopulation on our planet that consumes resources or negatively affects the climate, one cannot, however, propagate and justify the killing of life in the womb without revealing oneself as a diabolical misanthrope. Pope Francis, to whom some proponents of “reproductive health” (ie, abortion) invoke, says this in a very blunt way.

The materialists in power in the Western capitalist states and international organizations, as well as the communist dictators in China and its allied states, reject the doctrine of the creation of man in the image of God because they do not believe in God as believe our Creator and Judge. On the contrary, they claim to put themselves in the place of God and in their foolish arrogance are not even able to defeat the tiny coronavirus. Someone recently said: The oligarchs in Russia are mafiosi and in the West they call themselves philanthropists, so beware of those who pose as the saviors of humanity when they are only pursuing their own interests.

While the pandemic crisis and the measures taken to combat it have left millions of people in hardship and poverty, the world's ten richest people have simultaneously added hundreds of billions to their fortunes.

The dominant ideological current in politics, economy and communication thinks in a Darwinian-socialist perspective. This means that whoever asserts himself in the struggle for power, money and propaganda also has the law on his side, which is why only the powerful have the right to determine who is allowed to live and who must die based on their interests. They claim to determine which life is worth living and which life is not. Others even consider it a higher form of humanity to guarantee life only if born healthy, while it must be eliminated if born ill or in old age, in order to avoid present and future suffering. Or in the case of multiple pregnancies, only the child that the parents like according to their needs and preferences should survive; for example, China implemented the brutal and inhumane one-child policy for decades and forced women to kill their children. But whoever thinks in terms of the fundamental rights inscribed in man's spiritual and moral nature, or who invokes revelation in the Word of God as the ultimate criterion for man's image, can never find a just reason for killing an innocent human being.

We are in a “war against the saints” ( Rev 13:7), not only in the inhumane war against the Ukrainian people but also in the West, which is radically denying its Christian roots. Behind those responsible for all the suffering is “the beast that came up out of the earth', the epitome of wickedness and ungodliness unleashed by the life and death struggle of God's followers and against Christ the Lamb of God. Anyone who takes a pro-life position in Europe or America today is insulted, persecuted, discriminated against and marginalized. US Supreme Court justices who oppose abortion rights face death threats and their families' safety is threatened. Mobs fueled by the neo-Marxist media are burning Catholic churches in a country that prides itself on freedom of religion, expression and conscience. In Germany, as in all of Europe, where a campaign of annihilation against life, marriage and the family is underway,

In the pastoral constitution Gaudium et Spes, the Second Vatican Council addressed not only believers in Christ, but all people, as Magna Carta Pro Vita on the basis of inalienable human rights:

“Furthermore, which is contrary to life itself, like every kind of murder, genocide, abortion, euthanasia, and also voluntary suicide; whatever violates the sanctity of the human person, such as mutilation, physical or mental torture, and attempts at psychological coercion; whateverI offends human dignity, such as inhumane living conditions, arbitrary detention, deportation, slavery, prostitution, trafficking in women and young people, then also substandard working conditions in which the worker is treated as a mere means of subsistence and not as a free and responsible person: all these and other similar acts are in themselves a disgrace; they are a decomposition of human culture, degrade those who do wrong far more than those who suffer it. At the same time, they are supremely contrary to the Creator's honor” (Gaudium et Spes, 27).

In this hour of struggle for life and against death in the unborn, for the dignity of the seriously ill, but also for those at risk of suicide, if one wants to convince them that death (disguised as mercy) is their right, we Christians must remind them:

"Open your mouth for the sake of the mute, for the rights of all who are weak" (Proverbs 31:8).

Italian Family Minister: “The Family is Under Attack. They Want to Dominate Us and Cancel Our People”

Edit; we were sent this link by a twitter follower. Here is a google translate with some editing. We don’t think that Corriere Della Sera is too happy with this heroic Catholic’s point of view.

"The natural family is under attack. They want to dominate us and cancel our people." The new minister for the Family and Disability, Lorenzo Fontana declared this in 2016, as stated on his website.

[Corriere Della Sera] At the conference of the Pro Vita Onlus association held in Verona, he explained that "on the one hand the weakening of the family and the fight for gay marriage and the teaching of gender theory in schools, on the other the mass immigration that we undergo and the simultaneous emigration of our young people abroad. These are all related and interdependent issues, because these factors aim to erase our community and our traditions. The risk is the cancellation of our people.” The example to follow is Russia: "If thirty years ago Russia, under the Communist, materialistic and internationalist yoke, was the farthest imaginable from the ideas of identity and defense of the family and tradition, but today it is the model for those who believe in an identity model of society.”

The 38-year-old minister of the new government of the League and Movement 5 Stars, former vice-secretary of the Northern League who describes himself as "Veronese and Catholic" on Twitter, in March 2017 defined "the order of the Court of Appeal of Trento on double paternity (a law which recognizes that a child can have two fathers), a defeat for society ».

At the end of May he participated in the March for the Life of Rome to support the abrogation of the law 194 on abortion with the cry of "abortion is the leading cause of femicide in the world".

A graduate in Political Science, he particularly cares about the demographic theme: "Politics must take care of the family, we can not waste any more time. Children are the investment of the future. Every year it is as if we lost a city the size of Padua, the demographic decline is comparable to that caused between 1918 and 1920 by Spanish fever,” he said in an interview. In January, again on the same subject, the former prime minister, Paolo Gentiloni, commented: "For the outgoing Council President, the aging Europe needs migrants; for us, aging Europe needs to generate new children".

What's Going on in Bergoglio's Pontifical Academy for Life Anyway?

Edit: Randy Engel sent this to our e-mail. Hope we can help expose this manifest evil.

Dear Friends – Is there no end to the anti-life scandals at Pontifical Academy for Life?  Or is it Death?

Karolinska Institute is NOT a “Medical University.” It’s a Big Auschwitz  for unborn children.

In the selection of its members, the Vatican must also consider the institution that the member represents. In the case of Katarina Le Blanc that institution is the Karolinska Institute – one of the world’s foremost promoters of abortion and abortifacients. The Institute also is involved in non-therapeutic fetal experimentation and the provision of fetal tissues from aborted babies.  Its eugenic mind-set is illustrated by its pioneer promotion of human embryo preimplantation diagnosis and in-vitro Fertilization.

Either remove Le Blanc and all the other anti-life characters which infest the “academy” or just shut the growing hell-hole down! Enough is enough!

Randy Engel, U.S. Coalition for Life

Pontifical Academy for Scandals - One Scandal More :Source: La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana

The Nuova Bussola Quotidiana writes, that Katarina Le Blanc from the Swedish Karolinska Institutet, who was named on June 13th as a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life, works with human stem cells derived from aborted children.

In 2013 she published with other authors an article in PLOS ONE on stem cell research based on cells harvested from killed human embryos. The Pontifical Academy for Life declared in 2000, that such research is immoral.

In July 2016 Le Blanc published in Scientific Reports with others a study based on cells taken from the lungs of aborted children, purchased from the abortion-network Planned Parenthood at the price of 45 Dollars a baby.

Catholic Pro-Life Congressman Narrowly Escapes Assassination

Edit: this should be an invitation to discuss a ban on Marxists and Islamists. The shooter fired 50 rounds.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who is Catholic and Pro-Life, was shot in the hip and multiple Congressional aides were hit by a gunman with a rifle who opened fire at a baseball practice in Virginia Wednesday morning, Fox News confirmed.

The security detail was able to bring down the perpetrator.

Protestant Theologian: Conservative Party Has Capitulated to the Zeitgeist on Abortion

Rector of the Freie Theologische Hochschule Gießen: "It is not conceivable that the CDU has nothing to say" - although abortion is punishable, the actual handling of the population leads to the impression that abortion is legal

Cologne (kath.net) In the topic of abortion, Stephan Holthaus has charged politicians and especially the CDU of a "capitulation before the Zeitgeist". Holthaus is a rector of the Freie Theologische Hochschule in Giessen and a professor of Christian ethics and apologetics. He spoke at a discussion in an Lutheran Freikirche in Cologne, which was also attended by deputy CDU chairman Armin Laschet. The Protestant "pro media magazine" reported on this. "100,000 abortions a year are an ethical catastrophe. I can expect that a political system that inscribes a Christian human image on the flag will protect life. "For him," it is not conceivable that the CDU has nothing to say." Although abortion is a punishable offense, the actual impression among the citizenry is that abortion is legal.

Holthaus demanded that politicians should speak more clearly about the fact that only a small percentage of abortions would be carried out because of problematic pregnancies. In addition, said Holthaus, according to the "pro media magazine", they should support the policy initiatives that accompany women in conflicts during pregnancy. Laschet replied that his state did exactly that, he then criticized the fact that the Lutheran Church did not have a clear position here.

Laschet had previously appealed to the participants to participate politically: "There are too few Christians in politics. It is good for the entire political spectrum that Christians engage. "It is conceivable to actively participate or at least choose to go."

1.5 Million Peruvians Demonstrate Against Gender-Ideology in the Schools -- Leave the Children Alone

Anti-Gender Ideology Demonstration in Lima Last Saturday
(Lima) Peru is defending itself against the state's compulsory inclusion of gender ideology in the schools. After months of resistance at all levels, from rallies before parliament to parliamentary debates, from newspaper articles and television discussions to signature collections, a million and a half Peruvians went on the streets on 4 March.

The gigantic popular movement was initiated by the movement #Conmishijosnotemetas (hands off my children). In many Peruvian cities, large-scale demonstrations were held. The biggest demonstration took place in the capital Lima.

The Peruvian government wants to transform the entire curriculum at public schools in the sense of gender theory starting with the coming school year, with effects on the children from the most tender age. Cardinal Cipriani Thorne speaks of "ideological colonization." The organizers described the gender-compliant curriculum as "ideological brainwashing for the new generations." The curriculum is a serious attack on parental rights, which should be given priority in the education of children.

The March for Life in Lima. The attack on life is the other
side of the same coin.

The President of Peru has been Pedro Pablo Kuczynski Godard since July 2016. This son of a German Jew and a Swiss Protestant is Catholic. The director Jean-Luc Godard is his cousin. Peru is a semi-presidential republic. The President of the State appoints the government. Parliament can overthrow the government by a vote of no confidence. However, this has not yet happened. In parliament, Kuczynski's party has only 20 out of 150 seats. The absolute majority is held by the party of Keiko Fujimori, whom Kuczynski had just narrowly defeated. Fujimori is the daughter of former Peruvian president, Alberto Fujimori. The Peruvian left supported Kuczynski as a "lesser evil" against Fujimori.

Kuczynski is a dazzling figure. The investment banker, who became Minister for the first time at the beginning of the 80s, took part in the Bilderberger Conference in Tyrol in 1988. After his election as president, he dedicated Peru to the heart of Jesus and the heart of Mary. He implements the gender agenda, which is run by international institutions, including several UN agencies, without hesitation. The will of his people and the convictions of the vast majority of the Peruvians do not seem to bother him.

Beatriz Mejia, the spokeswoman for #Conmishijosnotemetas, called on Kuczynski to take a step backward and not to impose on the people anything that they neither want nor need.

Massively present in this mass uprising against gender ideology was the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. It was led by Cardinal Cipriani Thorne, Archbishop of Lima and Primas of Peru. The next date was just announced at the rally: the March for Life on the 25th of March. The right to life is the other big front, which is attacked from the international side.

There was massive criticism of the mass media at the demonstration, which barely offered space to cover the popular protest against the gender ideology, or downplayed and ridiculed it. The media follows a script that similar popular movements in other countries have experienced: from Manif pour tous in France, the Family Day in Italy and to the Demo Fuer Alle in the Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

"The civil society of Peru proves to be healthy and ready for battle. Will the political power be ready to listen to the citizens?" This is the question asked by Notizie Pro Vita which also formulated an indictment against the prevailing distortion of representative democracy, as can be seen not only in Peru.

Different Land, Different Bishops -- Poland's Bishops Demand Abolition of Abortion

(Warsaw) The Polish bishops are demanding, together with the pro-life movement, a complete protection of life and a total ban on abortion.
Currently, the killing of unborn children is allowed in exceptional cases, such as rape, until the 12th week of pregnancy, in cases of severe malformation of the fetus and when the mother is in danger of death. The current law dates back to 1993 and ended the communist regime introduced, "freedom" for the killing of unborn children. Even during the communist dictatorship, Poland had the most restrictive abortion law under the socialist republics of the Soviet bloc. In 1956, the killing of unborn children was legalized. The highest abortion rates were, according to statistics in the 1960s. The Soviet Union in 1920 was the first country in the world,  allowing the killing of unborn children under the law.
After the presidential and parliamentary elections of last year, which brought a change of government, the right to life organizations have now  presented a bill that has the support of the new national conservative PiS government confirmed by Prime Minister Beata Szydlo and the PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
"You can not stop at the compromise of 1993"
"When it comes to protecting the lives of unborn children, you can not stop at the compromise of 1993," said the Polish Episcopal Conference.  A joint pastoral letter of the bishops was read yesterday, on White Sunday (Mercy Sunday),  in all parishes of the country. The bishops have called on the faithful to support the fight against the evil of abortion and advocate for comprehensive protection of unborn life. The protection of the lives of the  defenseless, innocent children must have validity in Poland.  It tells a lot about a nation how they treat  their unborn children.
The new bill provides that the killing of the unborn child should be possible only in mortal danger of the mother. Whoever performs at an illegal abortion or supports it will  be punished in future by five years in prison. At present, two years are provided, which thus can be suspended on probation.
According to the Ministry of Health legal abortions under the liberal economic previous government have almost quadrupled to 1,812 cases in 2014. Feminist organizations, however,  talk of 200,000 abortions a year, if you were to consider the women who go for abortion abroad. Evidence of these horrendous figures are however not presented. Since the early 1970s, there is a  proven standard of the abortion lobby  to assert completely excessive illegal abortion numbers to allow for  the "necessity" of a legal regulation, i.e. to justify the legalization of killing unborn children. Neutral observers currently  count 7,000-10,000 illegal abortions.

International institutions try to put Poland under pressure

Feminist and pro-abortion organizations agitate for the legalization of infanticide. The feminist group Feminoteka demonstrated with unscrupulous slogans for a "right" to kill unborn children, "My body belongs to me", "Abortion is sacred" and "Vade retro Pro Vita".
International institutions such as the EU and UN are exerting pressure on Poland to legalize infanticide. In November 2015, there came the perverse paradox that the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, who were responsible for compliance with the UN Children's Convention in 1989 of Poland on behalf of the Children's Rights, demanded the legalization of abortion.

Old Liberal Bishop Urges Parishes not to Support Catholic Media Personality's Pro-Life Event at Parishes

Edit: apparently, the only unforgivable sin is opposing the consensus as it is outlined by America's Socialist Bishops' Conference. In this case, being opposed to illegal immigration is an unforgivable sin. This evil bishop has blocked, or attempted to frustrate Pro-Life initiatives in his diocese in the past. Here's the article from Sperro News:

[Sperro, Washington] Catholic Bishop Joseph Tyson of Yakima, Washington, has disconcerted members of his flock over his stance on a pro-life charity event. Diocesan officials are discouraging parishes from advertising a dinner being hosted by Image Point Mobile Medical Services, a private non-profit that maintains and operates a mobile medical unit that offers services at the site of abortion providers that including counseling and ultrasound. The organizers are hoping to raise money for another mobile testing facility for Image Point.

An email missive from a diocesan official to the priests of the diocese cited what was called Image Point’s alleged failure to “collaborate in a meaningful way with the Diocese,” after having received a grant from the Knights of Columbus. In his email, Monsignor Robert Siler, Bishop Tyson’s Chief of Staff, wrote:

“Second, the speaker they have invited, Laura Ingraham, while having a positive pro-life witness including her personal choice to adopt three children from other countries, is a strident opponent of many of the immigration positions held by the US bishops. As such, her visit to Yakima sends a profoundly mixed message to our community. As a very public figure with a national audience, she is held to a higher degree.”

March for Life Vienna-- Report of a Participant

Wolfram Schrems *
As announced, the 3rd "March for the Family" took place on Saturday, June 20, 2015, in the center of Vienna.  It was organized by the Platform Family under the initiative of Pro Vita -Association for human rights to life by a lawyer, the retired Dr. Alfons Adam. The event was also announced by the Newsletter of the Institute of Marriage and Family of the Austrian Bishops' Conference and of the Yes to Life / Human Life International, among other initiatives and organizations.
The intention was to stand up for marriage and against its perversion, for the promotion of the family, for  parental authority and against the seduction of school sex education, to gender mainstreaming and the inviolable right to life from conception.

Rally at Stephansplatz

A few hundred people were gathered at the beginning of the rally at 15.00 in an area the  cordoned off by the police. The  the police released in a number to OTS "about 200" which is clearly a huge underestimate.  As   film reports make clear, there were at least twice as many. Groups from Upper Austria, Salzburg and Carinthia had arrived. The latter was led by a very meritorious priest.
There was also a group of young Poles living in Vienna.
Children were also present, which, given the aggressiveness of the counter demonstrators, of course did not appear to be wise.
The organizers planned several speeches. Contrary to the announcement  Representatives Gabriele Tamandl (ÖVP) and  Carmen Schimanek (FPÖ) had not appeared.
The first speaker was the Syriac Orthodox priest and Choral Bishop Dr. Emanuel Aydin. He is a holder of the Grand Golden Medal of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. In sharp words he turned against the seduction of children by school sex education and against abortion. This he likened to the infanticide of Herod. In the words of the Apostle Paul, he reminded that "effeminate and homosexuals" will not enter the kingdom of God (1 Cor 6,9). In his Aramaic language, the language of Jesus, he blessed all those present.
Member of Parliament Dr. Marcus Franz (ÖVP), his occupation is doctor, who assisted the cause in matters big and small. But he pleaded for dead lines (which was  also against the expansion of abortion by its complete removal from the Criminal Code) and the Reproductive Medicine Act. This he described as painful compromise that is better than a legal vacuum. He spoke out against the manipulation of children by sex education.
District Chairwoman Ursula Stenzel (ÖVP) referred to in her speech   demonstrations being increasingly held in the first district, and particularly on the Ringstrase as an "abuse of the right to demonstrate". Some of them are also based purely in commercial interests. "But your rally is not an abuse of the right to demonstrate," she told the rally participants. Stenzel addressed a  request by a journalist on the objectives of the march.
The lectures and TV appearances well known to many of the Classicist and Dominican Sr., Dr. Katharina Deifel defended, as a widowed mother, and nun, the plan of creation of gender polarity.
The last speaker was the former Slovak Minister of Justice and Prime Minister Dr. Jan Čarnogurský who had been involved in the late 80s as a Catholic activist prisoner of the communist regime and with many like-minded people contributed significantly to the 1989 coup.  He compared the totalitarian gay propaganda nowadays with the communist propaganda in his home 30 years ago. As the latter had disappeared, so the former will soon disappear. Incidentally, it will be the children and grandchildren of faithful Christians who will pay the retirements for childless homosexuals and left-wing activists.
During the rally police pressure to shorten the event could be seen as the operational control  and compete the march early. This pressure, which is most likely due to political requirements was resistend by the organizers, however.

March - the Usual Provocation

However, the original demonstration route was not realized  due to an unapproved counter-demonstration.
There came to the barrier on Tuchlauben corner there was   a " very aggressive "attack on the police, who had to use pepper spray. According to police, there were two  arrests, a third person was still in detention on Saturday.  Several complaints were filed in accordance with the administrative or criminal law.
Protesters and provocateurs kept coming up close to the demonstration throughout. Incomprehensible hatred was visible here. In curses of all kinds were hurled in choruses ("you should have been aborted").

Final Rally at Minoritenplatz

The spokesman of the Vienna Akademikerbund, Mag. Christian Zeitz, pointed out in his very emotional speech on  perversion that of all the Ministry of Education (located at Minoritenplatz and flying  a rainbow flag)  developed the plans for sexual manipulation of children and adolescents. The Minister is himself childless, so will never be able to understand the concerns of the parents.
Even though the event was not intended as a religious, but was  called for the values of  natural law, the proportion of Christian activists was of course very large. Some clergy, priesthood candidates and sisters were visible, as well as a priest of the Society of St. Pius X gave his blessing at the Minoritenplatz.
Thus, the event ended at about 17:30.
Thanks to the "man-made global warming" the temperature did not come about 15 degrees out with frequent rains. This had the positive side effect that kept the shamelessness with the concurrent orgiastic parade through the ring in limits.

A look beyond the borders of Austria

Here is quite good news to report:
At the same time the Vienna march for the family about one million people were gathered, namely, in Rome for the Family Day in front of the Lateran against the perversion of marriage ("opening" for homosexuals) and against the political forces, "who want to massacre the family" (as Ex Maurizio Gasparri -Minister). The event had been called by Catholic associations. They were supported by secular forces and opposition parties.
On the following day, Sunday, 21 June,  in the same cause of defense for children  more than 4500 people had gathered in the center of Stuttgart. Given the massive terror of the omnipresent counter-demonstrators, it was a considerable contingent.

A brief comment

1. Apparently many parents are not aware of  the importance of moral attack, otherwise many more  times would have  appeared as participants at the rally.
2. It is incomprehensible and scandalous that the Catholic hierarchy basically shows no interest in protecting the faithful entrusted to them. The ecumenism proved once again to be unusable. Where are the shepherds, when you need them?Only Choir Bishop Aydin rescued - in addition to the participating Catholic priests - the honor of the clergy.
3. It was a pleasant surprise that the ÖVP politicians identified with the objectives of the march. Especially the participation of District Chairwoman Stenzel was perceived as pleasing. One can only hope that it will also bring the party leadership to rethink their position.
4. It has been shown once again how much the radical left and elaborate "anarchist" demonstrators, serve the  prescriptive policy agenda from above. Here the degree of astonishment indoctrination, hatred and - paradoxically - even self-contempt. The latter is recognizable where many chanted slogan "Your children will be like us". Apparently, these misguided people, usually in their third or fourth decade of life, have no high opinion of themselves as they   put themselves as a negative example. So one wonders with considerable anger, who has managed to turn young people into such undignified zombies.  Particularly unworthy are those people who you know, are always screaming against "Bullen" [The Pigs] even after calling after the police.  Since many of those are screaming with a  Federal German accent, you have to realize with horror how successful the "character wash" or "reeducation" has succeeded in the third generation now.
5. The terror in the streets stands in connection with police behavior: Although the individual officers act quite professionally, as a rule and enabled the exercise of the right to rally, at least ideologically political instructions to the police line are noticeable. It is clear that politically unpopular rallies are in a difficult position in "Red Vienna". Summary
Thanks and appreciation to organizers, co-organizers and participants. It was worth it. And it will go on!

Bishops' Conference: Catholic Media Should not Criticize the Abortion Politics of the Government

General Secretary of the Bishops' Conference
Gil Tamayo
(Madrid) Catholic media should not criticize Spanish government because of their abortion policy. A corresponding statement to the media by the Spanish Bishops' Conference had been granted by the Secretary General and spokesman of the Episcopal Conference, José María Gil Tamayo, as InfoVaticana reported. The Spanish Bishops' Conference includes the COPE radio chain and the TV station 13TV.

Christian Democrats are the Abortion Party, but Catholic Media Should Be Silent

Not to be critical of the government of the Christian Democratic Partido Popular, although they had promised a restriction of the killing of unborn children through abortion and legal strengthening of the right to life in the last election and therefore won the parliamentary elections. The law was actually drafted by the Justice Minister and decided on last fall by the government.  Yet it never arrived in the  Parliament. Just last summer, the Minister of Justice assured that the Parliament will discuss the law in September. Instead, the ruling Christian Democrats caved in fear of a political dispute and withdrew the law. Justice Minister Ruiz Gallardón then resigned in protest. Right to Life organizations and Catholic voters are disappointed to appalled.
The Partido Popular justified the capitulation with a view to the next upcoming 2015 parliamentary elections, for which one would not waste the chances of re-election. Instead, the party of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy is now experiencing an exodus of core voters, for the PP as the abortion party is no longer a legitimate voting choice.
Behind the scenes it seems to agreements between the General Secretariat, the Episcopal Conference and the Partido Popular have  agreed to keep the criticism on the back burner to prevent a return of the Socialist Party to power. The non-negotiable values that were championed Popes John Paul II. and Benedict XVI, were looked past.  That does not seem hard for some bishops' conferences to drop as  they had left the above mentioned popes in the stick in the fight against the barbaric mass murder of innocent children. The reigning Pope Francis facilitates looking away from Innocents, as he explained in an interview to have "never understood non-negotiable values," their formulation.

"On the  Pressure Scale of 0-10" Pressure Exerted is Only 2

As to the "right" to assassinate unborn children in many Western countries, including in the German-speaking world as "social consensus" is alleged that the Episcopal Conferences prefer to prioritize this "consensus".
According Info Vaticana , which relies on informants from the Catholic media COPE and 13TV, the Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference has given the media these instructions which is to largely hold back criticism of the government in matters of abortion. Literally Gil Tamayo said: "On the pressure scale 0-10, pressure 2".

Bishop Galantino: The Prelates, For Whom Unborn Children Are Just a Millstone Around the Neck

Bishop Galantino: Handpicked "Man of the Pope"
in Italy's Church Has bergolian difficulties
with the Unborn
(Rome) The Secretary General of the Episcopal Conference of Italy distanced himself from the defense of life. Therefore, he was heavily criticized, and is now attempting a self-pitying correction, which was in reality a criticism of his critics. It's another signal as to how annoying some prelates find  the struggle for life, when John Paul II led the struggle to the last and Benedict XVI. declared it a non-negotiable principle.  But then came Pope Francis.
Bishop Nunzio Galatino Cassano all'Jonio made a brilliant career move under Pope Francis, however, he became known simultaneously in a controversial, perhaps scandalous manner. Until his discovery by Pope Francis, the Bishop was completely unknown to the world outside of Calabria. As bishop, he stands at the head of an old dwarf diocese, as they actually exist only  for historical reasons only in Italy. The new pope made unilaterally the Secretary General of the Italian Episcopal Conference at the end of 2013. Although Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco is still chairman, the real "man of the Pope" has been Msgr Galantino ever since.
On May 12, the Bishop gave an interview in which he distanced himself from the strange way he addressed pro-lifers  who perform prayer vigils in front of the modern death camps and there pray the rosary for the protection of life and for an end to abortion (see separate report Bergoglio Effect: Secretary of the Episcopal Conference Distancing Himself From Pro-Lifers  ). It's not a random statement, but a deliberate signal to the dominant forces for the killing of unborn children as a "right", to which you must not be challenged.

Pontifical Galatino

The interview was made in Catholic circles, but especially crated among life advocates an international sensation. It fit into a series with a no less irritating interview, that Pope Francis gave in September 2013 for the Jesuit journal La Civilta Cattolica. The head of the church said that  Catholics  were "obsessed" with the right to life and that one can "not always" speak out about issues such as abortion  (see separate report And he wept over his Pope - Pope Francis is silent on abortion and homosexuality, and finds it a good thing ). The irritations were more violent, as the Catholic Church is the last major, global institution that still opposes the abortion dictate, and the popes have raised their voices courageously against the murder spree charged from the Encyclical Humanae Vitae to Pope Benedict XVI. Ten months had to pass and  ever stronger murmurings rose within the Church, till Pope Francis for the first time brought the word "abortion" in his mouth in January 2014 (see separate report "The Horror of Abortion" - Francis Pope calls abortion for the first time by name ).

All Just a Misunderstanding on Which the Media are to Blame?

Now  Bishop Galatino laments in a recent interview for the monthly magazine  Sempre, the fierce criticism that hit him after his first interview. The Secretary General of the Italian Episcopal Conference saw no need for a correction of his first interviews. The criticism he described as "aggression, which in reality hurt me a little." Monsignor Galatino is of the opinion that it had all been a misunderstanding which goes back to an instrumentalization by the media. "The said interview was developed in a specific context: the influence of social communications. On this occasion I warned for vigilance, especially with regard to television, where images are used only to support one's own message. I gave the example to those who then only blank faces of those show who pray the Rosary against abortion in front of clinics. It was a method of the media, who don't  just want to invalidate the rosary prayed in front of the clinics  but also the large and unusual movement that stands behind it."  According to Bishop Galatino he wanted to warn you to be vigilant against such media manipulation.

From the "Malice" of the Rosary

The reason for the misunderstanding  was that his statement was taken out of context. "Sometimes the representative of certain of our movements don't read the interview completely, but only the titles and headlines of the media, who of course, have every interest to write something sensational and create problems. So it came to 10,000 tweets and 15,000 Facebook posts "Against Bishop Galantino, who showed himself to be  " impressed"  by this wave of criticism from within the ranks to dismiss the "malice of certain people who claim to pray the Rosary."  It is  "worrying to know that someone who prays the rosary, then is able to express himself in such tones and with such verbal aggression." Pro-Lifers shake their heads. Bishop Galantino has thus proven just one more time to have little idea of the reality of war, which is against under way against the unborn children worldwide, and the protection of life, about which he speaks, however.
Pope Francis seems  to be satisfied with the thesis of this "misunderstanding" at any rate. This past June 21st he paid Bishop Galantino and his mini-diocese in Calabria a visit. To see an homage, which was unanimously interpreted by observers as a signal to the Italian Bishops for Bishop Galatino as the new powerful man in Italy's Church (see separate report A question of priorities - Corpus Christi procession without Pope Francis ).

What Exactly Had  The Secretary-General Said on May 12?

Quotidiano Nazionale: In recent years, the Bishops' Conference established itself  (life, family, education) for the non-negotiable values. The Pope does not have this concept at heart. Do you not also?
Bishop Galantino: When we think of the sanctity of life. In the past, we have focused exclusively on a no to abortion and euthanasia. This goes not, in between there comes to the existence, develops. I do not identify myself with the motionless faces of those who pray the rosary in front of  clinics, where abortions are carried out, but with those youth who reject this method and fight for better quality of life for the people of their rights to health and work.
In the new interview, Bishop Galatino spoke of the "influence of the media" and "instrumentalization by the media." In the original there is nothing of the sort, but a whole precise question to which the bishop replied which was just as clearly irritating.
Bishop Galantino has tried an old game, where the blame is always pushed to the journalists. An attempt that often succeeds in this particular case, however, as the bishop has neither denied up until today his former statement  nor demanded a rectification of the daily newspaper. A substantive correction of his position would offer more suitable for the  "man of the Pope" in the Italian Episcopal Conference. Above all, it would  provide the only correct answer to doubts and criticism. Therefore, Pro-Lifers believe that Bishop Galantino has exactly said  is in the interview: A distancing from  the right to life scene that is seen by some prelates as just a more than annoying millstone that impedes an arrangement with the Zeitgeist.
Sometimes the attempts to plug a hole are worse than the hole itself

Roberto de Mattei: Catholic Resistance Against Abortion and For the Family

(Rome) in Italy in recent years a radical upheaval in the right to life scene in progress. The situation is different in each country for cultural and historical reasons. Nevertheless, the Italian example offers, with references to the U.S. and France, some interesting elements for the German-speaking world, where the situation in the individual countries also have similarities and differences.

Beginning in 2011 the Italian March for Life, the pro-life movement, has regained its ability to act and has been freed from the suffocating embrace of a mere fig leaf function for (Christian Democratic) policy and the Bishops' Conference. The new pro-life movement is completely independent. Regardless of party, regardless of the Bishops' Conference and it's independent of other organizations.

The March for Life in Italy goes back to the initiative of traditionalist Catholics, including the recently departed legal philosopher Mario Palmaro. Traditional Catholics also gave the initial impetus for the French civil rights movement Manif pour tous. And the founder of the March for Life, the largest March for Life was buried in the Old Rite in Washington in 2012. This is no accident, as Roberto de Mattei says.

It's not only the right to life, but the family was in total released for departure, is now discussed in the context of building a movement to defend the family. The view is primarily beyond the Alps to the west, where in France with the civil rights movement Manif pour tous a movement has risen within a very short time with a mass basis.

Opinions differ about the ways in which the goal could be achieved. Recently, the repetition of was Family Day suggested, as it took place on 12 May 2007. In contrast, now one of the initiators of March for Life, the well-known historian Roberto de Mattei has asked to speak. "It will not be the Bishops’ Conference and the policy makers that nurture the Pro-life movement.“ Fact is that the family is besieged and attacked from all sides. Here are the further remarks of Roberto de Mattei on 11 June published in the daily newspaper Il Foglio and is indirectly a response to Martin Lohmann and his controversial invitation of Donum vitae to represent the March for Life in Berlin.

by Roberto de Mattei

The family is under unprecedented attack, not only in Italy but worldwide. This process, which was initiated by the '68 revolution, had its symbolic beginning in our country with the referendum of 12 May 1974, which confirmed the divorce law Fortuna Baslini of 1970. The way was thus paved for the next stages, which then led to the legalization of the new family law, abortion, artificial insemination and the recent attempt to institutionalize the homosexual partnership and to suppress dissenting voices with the new offense homophobia.“

The Family rooted in human nature, developed antibodies

The adoption of the quick divorce by the Chamber of Deputies, with which the times are reduced for the dissolution of marriage at six months, shows the direction the Renzi government will take. The institution of the family is shattered, but because it is rooted directly in the nature of man, it produces Anti-Bodies.

Over the past 40 years it has spontaneously formed defenses in response to movements in the world. The oldest is the American March for Life, which has gathered in Washington since January 22, 1974, every year with hundreds of thousands of participants and represents the diamond’s point of the anti-abortion movement in the United States.

The most recent is the French Manif pour tous , which was formed in September 2012 in Paris and in less than two years, millions of people took to the streets to protest against the aberrosexual pseudo-marriage.

Both of these movements are the most significant popular demonstrations in defense of life and the family.

What the March for Life and Manif pour tous Does

In Italy, the Catholic Bishops' Conference initiated Family Day on May 12, 2007 with the goal of adopting better social policies for the family by the Parliament. The initiative was a great success, but without consequences.

Since 2011, however, a spontaneous initiative of several small but mighty associations of of the March for Life have developed, where in Rome 50,000 people gathered on May 4 this year, took to the streets to bring to expression their unconditional No to abortion, without exception and without compromise.

What are the similarities and what are the differences between these various initiatives? The great strength of the March for Life and the Manif pour tous is to be powerful mobilizations although completely independent from political power or the Church hierarchy exert a profound influence on the political and religious institutions of their countries.

If the bishops of the United States belong till now the world's most determined defenders of life, to refuse Catholic abortion supporters Communion, then this is due to the fact that they are getting massive backing from the March for Life and they are at the same time also forced to give a positive witness. The Manif pour tous is non-denominational and politically independent, just like the March for Life, but receives the support of many bishops at the individual level. This has helped to create a psychological and cultural climate that led to Hollande’s crushing defeat in the recent elections to the European Parliament.

Regardless of politics and the Bishops' Conference

In Italy, where there is an entrenched Christian Democratic tradition, for the first points of contact are the bishops or the parties, all the initiatives that arose in the course of time, almost always emanate from political or ecclesiastical structures. The Forum of Family Associations, which officially organized Family Day in 2007, was directly dependent on the Bishops' Conference. It is sufficient to remember that the head of the Office for Family Pastoral of the Episcopal Conference or its representatives are involved, according to statutes. Also well known is the connection of the Movimento per la Vita by Carlo Casini to the Bishops' Conference of the MPV, according Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, it receives 600,000 euros a year, and almost half of the total budget.

The Family Day 2007, which was mainly due to the political intelligence of Cardinal Ruini has arisen within a year and died again, just because it was an initiative from above, lacking the roots in the Catholic people and the Catholic Associations.

Standard-bearer non-negotiable values
The success of the March for Life stems from the use from a variety of large and small realities that are present in all living branches of the society, from the parishes to the Internet. Without the support of the political parties, the bishops or the largest Catholic movements from Communion and Liberation to Neocatechumenate who can lead a compact and numerous army into the field for the March for Life. It is a base which needs to be represented by free and independent men and women, the standard-bearers of non-negotiable principles and hence ideas and are not led by power interests. That's the power of the March for Life.

Not from above, by political or ecclesiastical machinations can be something really built solidly for the defense of life and family, but from the bottom with the help of those myriads of groups, associations and circles, which are usually unknown and unnoticed by the media, who, however, are consolidated and form a compact block. Within this movement, and not as an alternative, it exists and can develop a serious opposition, which is not merely a facade, that opposes those who want to destroy the family.

The Easy World of Some Prelates -- Looking Away and Adjusting to the Powers of the World

From Giuseppe Nardi
(Rome) The incomprehensible words of Bishop Nunzio Galantino, the Secretary General of the Italian Episcopal Conference has unleashed resentment and disappointment among Catholics worldwide.  Particularly irritating is   the true fact that Bishop Galantino was appointed by Pope Francis and is the strong man in the Bishops' Conference.   Is it not the Pope who continuously criticized careerism and comfort? But what other than comfort, could there be if bishops refrain from the defense of Catholic doctrine and make dialectical tricks to bring themselves into line with the world? Bishop Galantino constructed in an interview with the Italian newspaper Quotidiano Nazionale (QN) a contrast between ethical questions that he played off against each other (see separate report Bergoglio Effect: Secretary of the Bishops' Conference Distances Himself from Pro-Lifers ). He opposed the commitment to the right for the life of children against concern for employment and health.
The bishop revealed that the opposition to abortion has become annoying to  part of the Church hierarchy because it strains  a congenial relationship of the Catholic Church with the ruling forces. Not only the left-wing parties, but also increasingly the bourgeois parties exclude any discussion of abortion legislation. Rather, the consent to abortion has become  a condition for government funding or even for licensing  as is done  in the U.S.. Government by Obama

The powerful want  child murder? Hooray We Cave In

Bishop Galantino  spoke openly about  what not a few bishops have long implied indirectly. The right to life issue and the Pro-Lifers disturb the good relations with those less and less influenced by Christianity in power, politics and the media. To express this, the new Secretary General of the startled Italian Episcopal Conference by not hesitating to caricature the Pro-Lifers in a condescending manner. That and the new Chairman of the American Bishops' Conference, Archbishop Joseph Edward Kurtz kneeling in front of abortion clinics praying the rosary, would be passed over in silence by Galantino. He, for one, will not do it. Not only that, those who do it, disturb the influential prelates. Probably because they are a constant reminder to the conscience.

Padre Pio and the Power of Prayer

Does  Bishop Galantino  not believe  in the power of prayer when he finds it so inappropriate and  makes derogatory judgments on those who pray against abortion? "Prayer is the best weapon we have. It is the key that opens the heart of God ", however, was what St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina said.
"Bishop Galantino, maybe you should just sit through a prayer vigil where people witness to the faith witness against the greatest crime in human history, while others are comfortably sitting at home," said Pro-Lifers Michele Majno in Riscossa Cristiana . "In addition to the smooth and slick passers by there will always be some stubborn 'Catholics who hold the rosary between their fingers and pray, rather than discuss some documents on socio-political issues, married priests, communion for remarried divorcees, tacit acceptance of abortion and vocal recognition of homosexuality, because they know that priests do not marry, sacramental marriage is indissoluble, and that homosexuality and the murder of innocent children are abominations that cry out for God's vengeance, "  said Majano.

Many bishops in Europe have remained silent too long

Bishop Galantino invented instead the assertion that he seems to have brought over one to one from Pope Francis, that the Church, so to speak has talked  too much   about abortion and could not constantly continue so one-sidedly.

From the words it is clearly apparent that life issues seem to get on Galantino's nerves.  The mass murder of unborn children isn't bothering him, but that there are Catholics who still point it out, although the rulers of this world have but decided on  their laws and therefore want to kill undisturbed.

Actually,  Bishop Galantino has claimed the exact opposite to be true. Many representatives of the Church, except the Popes (only since Pope Francis whose  pontificate's  papal attitude seems on the whole ambivalent) have been silent for decades on the subject of right to life. If they take a stand, then it is quite stealthily, so there's not too many to remember. An indictment against the biggest, industrially organized mass murder in human history you do not get to hear from the vast majority. It is much faster to enumerate the few bishops who have seriously  raised their personal voice against child murder with conviction, not as the tentative opinions, or roundabout explanations of the Episcopal Conferences.

Demonstrate with Abortion Lobbyists - Distancing from Pro-Lifers?

Bishop Ludwig Maria Schwarz of Linz, that Austrian diocese, which is a prime example of undersierable internal developments in the church in the German speaking areas, traveled to Vienna in order to participate last Wednesday at a "vigil" in front of the Federal Chancellery. He thus demonstrated against government cuts for NGOs for development cooperation. "We have a duty to provide assistance," rightly said the bishop. However, for the bishop it is not a problem   to show solidarity without distinction with organizations whose "development aid" participates in the promotion of abortion (keyword "reproductive health") .
Bishop Schwarz, however, was not seen on the street in order to demonstrate for the right to life  or to pray in front of an abortion clinic. An opportunity  would be available in Linz on Saturday, 17 May, where Human Life International Austria and the club Yes to Life invites you to a prayer vigil and among other things to the General Hospital of the city and the rosary for the right to life of mother and child pray against infanticide.

Questions to the Bishops

Bishop Galantinos "slip" was a few days after in Rome 4 March for Life was held in which more than 50,000 people took part, to demonstrate for life and against abortion. The lifers have thus provided evidence that the street does not belong only to those who demonstrate for the death. Is Galantinos  message to be understood in response to the March for Life? Therefore some questions to the bishops of the West:
1) Are the tens of thousands of people, priests, religious, children, adults, women, men and the elderly (including those who came in wheelchairs and on crutches), who drew representatives demonstrating marching for two hours in Rome's  Republic Square to St. Peter's Square  finally finding political recognition? Will the bishops relate a clear position, not only abstract,  for life, but specifically against the daily threat of abortion and the abolition of abortion murder laws?
2) From the 5th to the 19th of October, 2014, the Vatican Synod of Bishops will be held on the theme: "The pastoral challenges of the family in the context of evangelization." In the chapter Code of Canon Law (CIC) states to synodal assemblies (Canon 346.2): "Convened for the Extraordinary General Synod has to deal with matters that require a timely resolution." Do the concerns of lifers belong to the "affairs" that "require timely resolution"  (this is really a matter of life or death)?
3) The Pope said at the Angelus in St. Peter's Square to the 50,000 participants in the March for life in Rome (which  made   all the great Catholic lay associations and movements stand out  by their absence): "Good luck and forward".  When will the bishops follow the example of Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke and go at the first opportunity on the street to take part in the March for Life prayer vigils in their country and in front of abortion clinics and  appeal uncompromisingly for the right to life?
