Another Traditional Bishop Resigns Prematurely Because Local Lefties Don't Like Him

Vatican City-Paris, 12.10.2017 (CHAP / KNA) Pope Francis has accepted the premature retirement of the Bishop of Lucon, Alain Castet. This was announced by the Vatican and the French Bishops' Conference on Thursday. The 67-year-old has headed the Loire diocese in western France since 2008. Reasons for the resignation were not officially named.

The French radio station "Franceinfo" reports of several conflicts between members of the rural diocese and the bishop who worked 33 years in Paris. One reason was his participation in a meeting of the traditionalist of the Priestly Society of St. Peter in Wigratzbad. In addition, the broadcaster reports that the bishop celebrates the Mass mostly according to the pre-conciliar rite and basically without women at the altar. His communication behavior is described as difficult.

Another faithful one bites the dust in this anti-Church Vatican these days. Demoted, exiled, ridiculed, removed---that is what is happening to many faithful leaders and who so many others are afraid to speak up.

La Croix has cited the reason for Bishop Castet’s resignation as failing health. Why should that be the subject of conspiracy theories?
"Bishop Castet has undergone several surgeries in recent years on the cardiac level , confirms Grégoire Moreau, in charge of communication of the diocese. La fatigue s'accumulait et il récupérait de moins en moins bien, ce n'était plus tenable. The fatigue was accumulating and it recovered less and less well, it was not tenable. » "

Thank you Tancred for writing "another traditional bishop" instead of "another conservative bishop". These stupid conservative and liberal terms get thrown around and have nothing at all to do with the Church.

I like the last sentence which describes his communication as "difficult". Haha, awesome, a good old fashioned bishop who does what is right and doesn't have to answer to anyone except Rome. Guarantee a "parish council" wanted to dictate something to him and he just didn't answer and why should he, he runs the diocese, he gives orders, doesn't take them.

Modernist bishops above them, uncatechised parish councils below them, novus ordo parish priests are trapped...

I thought you didn't like La Croix, Gaybrielle?

Novus Ordo priests are as bad as moderninst bishops and uncatechised parish councils.
I went to an Augustinian university where this once great Order was reduced, by 2007 when I was a freshman, to an aged group of radical liberals still ad libbing the Mass, all sorts of liturgical oddities, and thought nothing of it. Of course, their 250 room Augustinian seminary on the grounds, consecrated in 1961 stands empty, and only a handful of students ever went to their Masses....except on Holydays. But their daily Masses.....perhaps 5-7 at most :)

By the way, in my Philly area, they used to staff about 8 parishes, a huge seminary, 2 highschools, and of course the university.....
Today, 2 parishes and the University...that's it.

The Catholic population in most western countries began a steep decline from the late 40s.
The Magisterium's campaigns against 'modernism' spiked during the papacy of Pius X.
What are you talking about?

I also found that amusing. PF won't answer the Dubia or meet with them. How's that for communication? Get him on a plane or let him spot a microphone he won't shut-up with his personal opinions and presenting them as the Gospel and articles of Faith.

It fascinates me thatthe entourage of plane papal puppet journalists always seem to ask soft ball questions that promote his agenda, one could almost suggest the plane interviews are scripted.
Why hasn't any plane journalist asked him about the dubia?

Maybe because they prefer to step gently back onto terra firma rather than become reacquainted from 30,000 feet.

You're in the Philadelphia area? Awesome! Maybe we'll run into each other one day.
